Jun 15, 2020 (newstodate): Estonia's Tallinn Airport is still seeing no end to a sustained backward-sliding cargo trend in 2020.
In May 2020 a total of 651 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled, down 31.4 percent, y-o-y.
Airfreight export dropped 5.4 percent to 247 tonnes, and airfreight imports were also down 14.6 percent to 378 tonnes.
Earlier, hopes were that import of mail would save the day at Tallinn Airport as e-trade shipments would increase in volumes - but mail imports, still 132 tonnes in January 2020, are now down to only 12 tonnes in May 2020.
