Jun 15, 2020 (newstodate): Currently the only carrier online between Norway and the UK with scheduled passenger services, Norway's regional carrier Wideroe has plans for more in the UK.
According to Airport Coordination Ltd, Wideroe has applied for slots to operate 13 weekly rotations on a new route between Bergen and London City Airport.
Wideroe has also applied for slots for four daily rotation between Bergen and London Gatwick Airport.
If granted, the carrier is expected to launch flights to London City Airport from the coming winter schedule, using Embraer E-190-E2.
Starting from May 11, 2020, Wideroe increased to two daily rotations between Bergen and Aberdeen, and from June 1, 2020, the carrier has returned flights on the route between Stavanger and Aberdeen with one daily rotation.
In March 2020, Wideroe named Wexco Cargo GSSA its new provider in the UK market.
