Jun 12, 2020 (newstodate): As Kosovo's Prishtina Airport reopens after the coronavirus lockdown, a new airline is nestling for a period: Latvia's SmartLynx Airlines.
The ACMI and charter carrier has landed a contract with Kosovo's PrishtinaJET allocating two Airbus A320 aircraft for flights to Basel, Dusseldorf, Stuttgart and Munich from July 2020.
According to the plans, SmartLynx will perform a total of 17 weekly rotations from the base at Prishtina.
The virtual airline PrishtinaJET has been established by a group of investors from Kosovo's aviation, tourism and travel industries.
Member of the Avia Solutions Group, SmartLynx Airlines SmartLynx operates a fleet of 24 Airbus A320 Family aircraft, including nine A321.
