Jun 08, 2020 (newstodate): Icelandair is now cautiously planning the opening of the first flights on a purely commercial basis after the coronavirus lockdown.
Till now, the only scheduled flights have been based on subsidies from the Iceland state to keep a minimum of trade lanes open, comprising flights from Iceland to Stockholm, London and Boston.
Starting from June 15, 2020, Icelandair will now add scheduled commercial flights to 10 destinations including Copenhagen, Berlin, Munich, Amsterdam, Zurich, Frankfurt, Paris, London, Stockholm and Boston.
Until the situation returns to normal, flight schedules will be worked out for 2-weeks periods, allowing for continuous evaluation of commercial and other issues in each case.
