Jun 02, 2020 (newstodate): China is eager to enhance its image in the aviation industry and ease operations by foreign cargo airlines.
CAAC recently issued the Notice on Further Improving the Management Policies of Cargo Routes and Flights, aiming to boost the capacity of China’s air cargo and enhance the international competitiveness of the country’s logistics industry.
According to the Notice, approval processes will be reduced and approval efficiency increased to help airlines to arrange cargo flights more flexibly and efficiently.
The Notice focuses on the difficulties, problems and obstructive links in the daily operation of cargo aviation by proposing the following measures: easing of the operation arrangements of cargo routes in Beijing; simplifying the issuance procedures for operation licenses of domestic and international cargo routes; simplifying review procedures for flight plans; differentiated management of slots for cargo and mail flights and passenger flights as well as improving the level of informatization of routes and flights supervision.
Reported by Xinhua, CAAC has already lifted restrictions on the operation of all-cargo flights at Beijing Capital International Airport and Beijing Daxing International Airport, allowing all airlines to operate all-cargo flights at both airports.
CAAC is also to streamline route approval application processes for both domestic and international cargo flights, requiring airlines to only make a single application to obtain approval.
Statistics for April 2020 from CAAC show that Chinese and foreign airlines performed a weekly average of 1,574 regular all-cargo flights.
