Jun 09, 2020 (newstodate): May 2020 was another most unusual month for Finnair Cargo as evinced by its latest monthly statistics.
Only 4,405 tonnes of cargo was carried by the airline, down 99 percent, y-o-y, of which loads on all-cargo flights accounted for 4,223 tonnes.
Thus, a mere 183 tonnes were lifted on passenger flights in the strictly limited European network remaining after the general lockdown.
With 12 Airbus A350-900 and two A330-300 aircraft converted, Finnair operated 263 one-way all-cargo flights in May 2020, 112.1 percent more than in April 2020, while the total cargo tonnes were up by 127.5 percent from April 2020.
During the first five months of this year, Finnair has transported a total of 36,434 tonnes of cargo, a decline by 45.8 percent, y-o-y, with loads on the Asian lanes at 20,716 tonnes, down 57.8 percent, y-o-y.
