Jun 17, 2020 (newstodate): While the Swedish and Danish governments are rallying around SAS with pledges of support for its recapitalization plan, one Nordic carrier is struggling on its own: Norwegian.
While the carrier has found it hard to obtain support even from its own home turf, the Norwegian government, the carrier is now defying rumors of early death and lifting off on a new schedule taking effect from July 1, 2020.
Till now operating only flights on domestic routes in Norway with eight aircraft, Norwegian will return a further 12 Boeing 737-800 aircraft to commercial service with flights on 76 routes in Europe that were so far only tentatively scheduled to be opened in 2021.
