May 06, 2020 (newstodate): The volume of Norway's total salmon export was down by four percent, y-o-y, during the first 18 weeks of this year, to 276,004 tonnes.
In week 18 alone, ending May 3, volumes dropped even further, by 5.5 percent to 15,314 tonnes - and the average price per kg fell by 11 percent.
Exports to China were however up by 17 percent to 628 tonnes in week 18, while the average price pr kg dropped as much as 29 percent, y-o-y.
Exports to South Korea increased 5.6 percent to 437 tones, but the average price pr kg fell by 17.3 percent, and exports to Japan we down 28 percent to 241 tonnes, but the average price was more stable, only down 0.6 percent in week 18.
