May 15, 2020 (newstodate): While the three Scandinavian markets are served by Emirates with flights to Dubai, the Finnish market relies on services by flydubai.
The state-owned carrier flydubai has now announced the resumption of services code-shared with Emirates between Helsinki and Dubai from June 7, 2020, with initially four weekly rotations using Boeing 737 aircraft.
With the first flight on the route on October 11, 2018, Finland got its first direct scheduled air-link to Dubai by a Gulf-based carrier on a year-round basis, while flights were suspended from mid-March due to the pandemic.
flydubai competes on the route with Finnair plying the air on the route, but on a seasonal basis only, since February 2011, using Airbus A321 aircraft.
