May 26, 2020 (newstodate): Grounded since April 18, 2020, as the Covid-19 struck, scheduled flights connecting Greenland and Denmark are now soon to be reopened.
Greenland's government has decided to lift restrictions gradually from June 15, 2020, initially allowing for two weekly rotations on the Transatlantic route between Kangerlussuaq and Copenhagen.
In time for the relaunch of services, Air Greenland has also received, on May 18, 2020, its single Airbus A330-200 aircraft after a prolonged maintenance period forcing the carrier to charter an Airbus A330 aircraft from HiFly for two weekly rotations between Kangerlussuaq and Copenhagen to cater to the needs for cargo-only services to and from Denmark.
