May 01, 2020 (newstodate): Few airlines announce positive news these days; Wizz Air is an exception with the opening of a second base in Ukraine and start of new flights from July 2020.
The carrier is thus now established at Lviv with the allocation of one Airbus A320 aircraft at Danylo Halytskyi International Airport - for a start.
From this new base at Lviv, Wizz Air will launch flights from July 1 on seven new routes to Billund in Denmark, Tallinn in Estonia, Lisbon in Portugal, Hamburg in Germany and Szczecin in Poland, in addition to new routes from its base at Kharkiv to Tallinn and Berlin.
Wizz Air set up Wizz Air Ukraine as the country's first low-cost carrier with the launch on July 18, 2008, but rigid changes in Ukraine's aviation law forced Wizz Air to close down the subsidiary in 2015.
Instead, Wizz Air returned to the Ukrainian market with own operations from 2016.
