Apr 14, 2020 (newstodate): Qatar Airways has reined in on its services between Doha and its five destinations in the Nordic region.
During the winter 2019/20 schedule, Qatar Airways had been planning to operate a total of 67 weekly flights between Doha and its Nordic destinations, including 18 weekly flights at Copenhagen, 14 weekly flights at Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki, respectively, and seven weekly flights at Gothenburg.
In today's revised schedule, Qatar Airways will be offering only 15 weekly rotations to four Nordic destinations, as flights now suspended to Gothenburg, in Sweden, will be resumed only from June 1, 2020.
The carrier will be operating four weekly flights to Copenhagen till May 31, 2020; flights to Stockholm will be offered four times weekly till May 31, going up to 10 in June; flights to Oslo will be provided with four rotations till end of May, going up to 10 in June; and flights to Helsinki will be operated three times per week till the end of May 2020.
Qatar Airways launched flights from Qatar to Scandinavia with Stockholm as its first destination from November 27, 2007, adding flights from Qatar to Copenhagen from March 30, 2010, and to Oslo from October 5, 2011, rounding off in the Nordic region with flights to Helsinki, Finland, from October 10, 2016, and finally adding its 5th Nordic, and 2nd Swedish destination, Gothenburg, from December 18, 2018.
Since January 2020, Menzies has replaced SAS Ground Handling to serve Qatar Airways' flights at Copenhagen, Stockholm and Gothenburg, while handling of Qatar Airways in Oslo has remained with SAS Ground Handling, and handling of Qatar Airways at Helsinki has remained with Swissport.
