Apr 08, 2020 (newstodate): All Nordic airlines saw passenger volumes drastically down in March 2020, for obvious reasons shared universally with the global airline industry.
According to statistics available, Norwegian fared the worst with a drop in pax volumes by 61 percent, y-o-y, followed closely by SAS that saw its passenger number down 60 percent.
Finnair suffered slightly less with a decline by 56 percent - but Icelandair came out a bit less hurt with passenger volumes down "only" 54 percent in March 2020.
Looking at over-all passenger load factors, Norwegian performed best with 72 percent seat occupancy, followed by Icelandair with 62 percent, 58 percent for Finnair - and SAS at the bottom with only 49 percent of the seats taken.
