Apr 23, 2020 (newstodate): Overall, Norway's salmon export slowed down by 4.5 percent, y-o-y, to 224,597 tonnes during the first 16 weeks on this year.
The export is, however, recovering and up 21 percent to 15,104 tonnes in week 16, ending April 19, 2020.
Exports to Mainland China, down 24 percent during the 16 weeks' period, rebounded by 235 percent to 837 tonnes in week 16, while exports to Hong Kong, down 19 percent to 3,517 tonnes over-all in 2020, crawled up to 202 tonnes in week 16, an increase by 2.5 percent, y-o-y.
The Republic of China on Taiwan remains a lighthouse in the Chinese-speaking world with volumes rising 32 percent to 3,849 tonnes in weeks 1-16, and increasing 15 percent, y-o-y, to 149 tonnes in week 16.
