Apr 20, 2020 (newstodate): Lithuanian airports are doing fairly well in cargo volumes during the current period of virtual stop to passenger flights.
During the first three months of this year, the three airports at Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga have together handled 4,467 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 17 percent, y-o-y.
Vilnius Airport alone handled 3,664 tonnes, up 20 percent, y-o-y, 802 tonnes were handled at Kaunas Airport, up four percent, and Palanga Airport handled 0.9 tonnes, also up 30 percent during the three-months period.
Only last week, Cargolux performed two flights with Boeing 747-400F aircraft from China to Vilnius Airport carrying PPE shipments to Lithuania.
