Apr 07, 2020 (newstodate): It comes as no surprise that Finnair's monthly report on its cargo performance is deeply marked by the coronavirus effects.
In March 2020, Finnair thus saw its total cargo volumes down by 47.2 percent, y-o-y, totalling 7,342 tonnes, with volumes carried on the Asian lanes down 51.6 percent to only 5,050 tonnes.
With 773 tonnes, volumes on the Transatlantic flights dropped 21 percent, and volumes on the European traffic was also down 37.6 percent to 1,686 tonnes.
During the first quarter of this year, total volumes lifted by Finnair were 30,092 tonnes, down 19.8 percent, y-o-y, with Asian volumes declining 26.1 percent to 20,685 tonnes.
