Apr 21, 2020 (newstodate): After a decades-long presence in Greenland via a local partnership, Danish forwarding company Leman is now established with an own office at Nuuk.
Leman Greenland started business in Greenland's capital from April 1, 2020, with two local staff for a start.
-Our partnership with a Greenlandic partner has performed excellently for almost 20 years, but both parties felt that the time had come for ending the partnership for new potentials to open up, says Lars Krabbe, Leman VP Denmark.
-Leman has long nurtured ambitions to expand in the market, and we are convinced that we can grow our market share regardless of whether the market actually grows, declines or stays unchanged. And with the coming new market conditions with a new airport infrastructure in Greenland new potentials are surely opening up in the coming years.
-Greenland's trade is strongly one-way, dominated by imports from Denmark and with little export to balance operations. Still, we are to look into opening new niches as Greenland's trade with the outside world develops with new traffic lanes emerging.
-We are of course aware that there are already other strong forwarding and logistics providers in the Greenland market, but there is room for more - and sound competition is always welcomed, says Mr Krabbe.
