Mar 25, 2020 (newstodate): Turkish Cargo is doing well in the Danish market, with two weekly freighters at Billund Airport.
-We are certainly seeing strong loads on our two freighter frequencies, one operating directly between Istanbul and Istanbul, the other operating Istanbul-Vienna-Billund-Istanbul, but with full flexibility in allocating capacity according to concrete market needs, says Cem Kavas, Turkish Airlines Regional Cargo Manager Denmark.
-Earlier, the flights were primarily driven by imports, but this has changed. Today, we are seeing rising Danish exports via Istanbul to markets including the US, Middle East, Africa and the Far East, while import volumes are less dominating.
-As there is today little passenger air traffic, there is a huge shortage of cargo capacity in the market, but even under these conditions we still strive to keep a fair balance between rates and demands to allow all parties in the transaction to feel satisfied and make sound business. After all, no one knows what the world will look like once this crisis has been overcome - nor how long it will take.
-As the only carrier offering freighter operations in all four Nordic markets, our focus remains on serving our regional costumers with reliable and cost-efficient services, says Mr Kavas.
Turkish Cargo launched operations at Billund on April 10, 2016, with one weekly Airbus A310-300F freighter wet-leased from ULS Airlines Cargo, adding a second frequency from early November 2016.
