Mar 09, 2020 (newstodate): Russia is making a fresh effort to inject its Superjet 100 aircraft into Europe.
The Russian Dep PM has confirmed that a fresh round of talk will be conducted with the coming new Serb government over the acquisition of eight Superjet 100 aircraft for Air Serbia.
The aircraft purchase issue has thus been placed at political levels, while Air Serbia itself has reportedly not shown any inclination for the Russian aircraft despite repeated efforts by Russia since 2015 to export the aircraft to Serbia.
Air Serbia is indeed to grow its aircraft fleet in 2020, but with western-built aircraft including two Airbus 319 to be delivered this spring, and two ATR72 to follow by May 2020.
