Mar 26, 2020 (newstodate): Norway's total export of fresh salmon dipped again in week 12, ending March 22, 2020.
A total of 15,350 tonnes of salmon was exported, down by 7.8 percent, y-o-y, while volumes through the first 12 weeks of this year are now down 2.2 percent, compared to last year.
Volumes exported to China in week 12, totalling 450 tonnes, were down 17.4 percent, y-o-y, while so far this year up to and including week 12, Norway has exported a total of 3,000 tonnes of salmon to China which is down 46 percent, y-o-y.
In week 12, volumes exported to Hong Kong were down again by 15 percent, to 291 tonnes.
More encouraging in week 12 was the export to South Korea that increased by 53.2 percent to 582 tonnes, bringing the volumes during weeks 1-12 to 7,775 tonnes - roughly on a par with last year.
