Mar 18, 2020 (newstodate): Breaking the clouds over the industry, one good news bodes well for Norway's seafood air logistics: a new scheduled freighter service coming up!
Starting from March 20, 2020, and flying in from Amsterdam, Silk Way West Airlines is introducing weekly Boeing 747 freighter services at Oslo Airport.
The carrier will aim at offering two weekly flights from Oslo to Baku in Azerbaijan with transfer services to Chinese and Asian destinations, but from the start and during the first two weeks only one weekly flight is currently being planned.
Silk Way West Airlines has been operating flights from Oslo Airport also in 2019, but on a charter basis only.
In Scandinavia, the carrier is served by ATS as its GSSA, with bookings managed from the office at Amsterdam.
At Oslo Airport, terminal and ramp handling of Silk Way West Airlines is provided by Oslo Seafood & Cargo Center AS.
