Mar 24, 2020 (newstodate): Amid the current general downturn in the cargo industry, a new Danish company has emerged: ScanCargo Logistics.
As an independent 3. party logistics specialist focussing on the Nordic countries, ScanCargo Logistics is established by Henrik Nielsen, in the industry since 2004 and holding various executive positions including eight years with Blue Water Shipping and three years with ColliCare Logistics.
-I did not, of course, foresee the rather challenging timing of the launch of this new company, but we have actually come off to a promising start with four customers - two in Italy, one in Holland, and one Danish company. So the business is taking off, says Mr Nielsen.
-The basic business plan is to act as a combined forwarder/consultant to customers among small and medium-sized companies with needs for transport and logistics solutions. The idea is to offer clients an open-book solution to their needs by stringing together specific providers with special competencies in individual markets and destinations, rather than coming up with a single provider that may be strong in certain market and destinations, but less so under other conditions or in other markets.
-In short, I see the role of ScanCargo Logistics as a mix of the tradition forwarders and the traditional consultant, offering full transparency to the customer with needs for road, rail, sea or air transport solutions, says Mr Nielsen.
