Mar 16, 2020 (newstodate): Turkish Airlines' freighter operation at Lithuania's Vilnius Airport is a boon to the country's cargo business.
During this weekend, the Lithuanian freight forwarding company Litgina has been handling a large cargo shipment in cooperation with its partner, Aramex, destined for Jordan.
-Thanks to our allotment on Turkish Cargo's Airbus A330-200 freighter service, we were able to take in a 1,7 tonnes 20 cbm general cargo shipment on 13 pallets at Vilnius Airport on Friday, loaded on Saturday on Turkish Cargo's flight to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen for transfer to Amman in Jordan, says Linas Saltenis, Litgina owner and CEO.
-What was unique about this operation was the size and short transit time at Vilnius Airport. For sure - trade must carry on, even when passenger flight movements are banned or restricted, says Mr Saltenis.
Turkish Cargo has been operating a twice-weekly freighter service at Vilnius Airport since April 19, 2018.
