Mar 25, 2020 (newstodate): Iceland is to launch a program for enhancing the infrastructure of two airports as a means to counterbalance the negative effects from the corovirus-crisis.
   Plans are to extend the currently 2,000m runway at Egillstadir Airport in the eastern part of Iceland allowing for operations with larger aircraft types, as well as upgrading of the terminal infrastructure at Akureyri Airport in the northern part of Iceland.
   Works will commence already in 2020.
