Mar 11, 2020 (newstodate): Built for another age that did not last long, the world's Airbus A380 fleet is increasingly being grounded by operators during the current coronavirus crisis.
Qantas has now only two out of 12 aircraft in service, with another 10 aircraft being kept on ground at last till September 2020.
Lufthansa has announced that all of its 14 A380 are now grounded, and Korean Air has also withdrawn it 10 aircraft from service.
China Southern has parked its five A380, and Emirates is continuously adjusting the number of its 115 A380 aircraft in active service, while Asiana has parked most of its six A380 aircraft.
British Airways seems still be operating all of its 11 A380 aircraft, while ANA that continues operating its two A380 has deferred the delivery of its third and final A380 that is now parked at Toulouse.
Airbus has delivered a total of 242 Airbus A380 aircraft out of the 251 on firm orders, and the production line will be finally shut down in 2021 ending another chapter in the aviation history.
