Mar 02, 2020 (newstodate): While Billund Airport continued to grow in passenger volumes in February 2020, the coronavirus took its toll on cargo as is the case on a global scale.
The airport thus saw the total cargo volumes down by 7.3 percent, y-o-y, to 5,210 tonnes.
Imports dipped the most, down 19 percent to 1,246 tonnes, while exports also suffered in February, down 2.9 percent to 3,964 tonnes.
During the first two months of this year, total volumes are now down one percent to 11,124 tonnes including 3,103 tonnes of imports, down 8.7 percent, and 8,021 tonnes of exports that are still up 2.3 percent, y-o-y, to 8,021 tonnes.
