Mar 17, 2020 (newstodate): While reining in on capital expenditures during the current downturn, Copenhagen Airport confirms its sustained support for the air cargo industry.
-One of our highly critical duties at Copenhagen Airport is to support the flow of freight either leaving Denmark as exports or entering as imports on freighter aircraft or scheduled passenger flights.
-A total of 33 per cent of Denmark's total exports is transported by air, and large quantities of pharmaceutical and consumables are flown in and out of the country every day, the airport says in a release out today.
According to the latest statistics published, January 2020 saw a drop in air cargo volumes, including integrator traffic, at Denmark's Copenhagen Airport.
Down eight percent, y-o-y, the airport handled a total of 26,861 tonnes of cargo during the first months of the year.
Non-integrator belly cargo volumes were up by nine percent, to a total of 11, 138 tonnes, but drawing into the opposite direction cargo on all-freighter services were down by 93 percent, to only 235 tonnes.
