Mar 04, 2020 (newstodate): Traffic between Hong Kong and the Nordic region is strongly hit by the effects from the coronavirus spread.
SAS has now announced the suspension of flights on the route from Copenhagen starting from March 5 till end of April 2020, and Finnair is now also keeping only one of two daily flights from Helsinki since March 1 and so far till end of March 2020.
SAS has suspended all flights from Copenhagen to Shanghai and Beijing till the end of March as the current winter schedule expires, while Finnair has also suspended all flights to its China Mainland destinations Beijing Airport, Beijing Daxing Airport, Shanghai, Xian, Nanjing and Guangzhou till the end of the winter 2020 schedule.
Tibet Airlines has suspended flights on its route between Jinan and Helsinki served once weekly, planning to start operating again from March 30, 2020, and Sichuan Airlines has also cancelled flights on its route served twice-weekly between Chengdu and Helsinki.
Juneyao Airlines has stopped bookings for the planned route extensions of the route Shanghai-Helsinki to Keflavik, Manchester and Dublin, while it still plans to go up to daily flights between Shanghai and Helsinki from April 26, 2020, currently offering only one weekly and from March 29, 2020, three weekly rotations.
In contrast to other airlines, Air China maintains its frequency of flights unchanged on the route between Beijing and Stockholm.
