Feb 12, 2020 (newstodate): The Chilean company LATAM Cargo's freighter operations at Copenhagen Airport did not, unfortunately, last long.
The carrier performed its last operation at Copenhagen Airport on December 19, 2019, and has now suspended the program, moving the operation instead to Frankfurt.
-The management decided to close down the service at Copenhagen as it did not provide the profitability needed, says Raul Peralta, LATAM Cargo Inside sales GSA Europe, Middle East and Africa.
-We are thus back to serving the Nordic markets with trucking into our hubs at Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Brussels, so we have definitely not left the market and would indeed be happy to return flights if warranted by the customers, says Mr Peralta.
Starting on June 20, 2019, LATAM Cargo offered a weekly flight with a Boeing 767-300 freighter coming in from Brussels and departing from Copenhagen Airport via a technical refuelling stop at Capo Verde to Viracopos in Brazil, Montevideo in Uruguay, Santiago in Chile, and Quito in Peru.
Serving LATAM Cargo with cargo terminal services at Copenhagen Airport is WFS, ramp handling was provided by DHL Aviation, while Kales Airline Services provides the carrier with cargo sales and marketing in all four Nordic markets.
