Feb 04, 2020 (newstodate): The Scandinavian carrier SAS has now taken delivery of its second new Airbus A350 aircraft, arriving during the past weekend.
On November 28, the Scandinavian carrier SAS took delivery of its first of eight Airbus A350-900 aircraft to replace the seven ageing Airbus A340-300 fleet, which will be retired as the A350 join the fleet.
After the first two A350 deliveries, a third aircraft will follow later this spring, with the fourth aircraft joining by autumn/winter 2020.
The remaining four aircraft on firm orders will then be delivered in 2021.
SAS has thus become the second airline in the Nordic region with Airbus A350 aircraft, after Finnair that received its first aircraft from Airbus on October 7, 2015, as the first European operator of this aircraft type.
Now operating 14 Airbus A350 aircraft, Finnair will receive two Airbus A350 in 2020, two in 2021 and the last of the 19 aircraft ordered in 2022.
