Feb 04, 2020 (newstodate): Set up in Poland as a subsidiary of Ryanair with the first flight on April 26, 2018, Buzz - earlier named Ryanair Sun - is bent on expansion.
The carrier started out with five aircraft and increased the fleet to 17 Boeing 737-800 aircraft on Polish register in its first year of operation, increasing to 25 aircraft in summer 2019.
By the end of 2019, Buzz grew its fleet to 32 Boeing 737-800, adding new bases at Prague and Budapest.
Buzz is now planning to boost the number of aircraft to 50 Boeing 737 aircraft, primarily serving as support to Ryanair's operations while dedicating seven aircraft to charter operations.
Buzz was registered as a company on July 13, 2017, headquartered at Warsaw, with bases at Katowice, Poznan, Warsaw and Wroclaw, and was granted its Polish AOC on April 3, 2018.
