Feb 27, 2020 (newstodate): Russian Post has launched Moscow Ramenskoye Zhukovsky Airport as its new hub in the Moscow region.
With the first TU-204 postal flight on February 21, 2020, Russian Post is now operating postal flight services on the cross-country trunk route between Moscow and Norilsk via Krasnoyarsk.
At Moscow Zhukovsky Airport, Russian Post is handled by the Zhia Cargo logistics complex opened on February 5, 2020, with a production capacity of 100,000 tons per year, allowing for handling of all types of cargo imports and exports and greatly expanding the development of the airport's cargo operations.
Currently, the terminal handles only domestic cargo, shipments from countries of the Customs Union and international export operations, but in March 2020, Zhukovsky Airport will complete the licensing of customs infrastructure, which will remove restrictions on all import handling.
Zhukovsky Airport was officially opened on May 30, 2016, as the fourth international airport to serve the Moscow area and relieve the pressure on the existing capital airport infrastructure.
