Feb 19, 2020 (newstodate): Lithuania's Avia Solutions Group again secured front page news by announcing, on February 17, the acquisition of the Nordic ground handling services provider Aviator.
The agreement was signed on February 14, 2020, transferring Aviator from its former owner, the investment fund Accent Equity 2008.
ASG has thus firmed up its position in the ground handling business that already comprises the ownership since 2008 of Baltic Ground Services.
Aviator brings in a workforce of some 2,500 employees serving airlines at 11 airports in Norway, three airports in Sweden, and one in Denmark and Finland.
-Upside earnings opportunities for the group will be realized through the provision of additional services, such as fuelling and line maintenance, at Aviator’s stations as well as through synergies in purchasing of ground handling equipment and the use of proprietary operations management software, a statement from ASG reads.
Aviator will continue operations under its own brand, and so far no changes in organization or management have been announced.
Over the years, Avia Solutions Group, with HQs on Cyprus, has grown into a leading multi-faceted global aviation service provider with 67 offices and production stations across five continents and over 5,000 aviation professionals.
