Feb 20, 2020 (newstodate): With the setup of a subsidiary in Denmark, the cargo GSSA Air Trade Services, ATS, is rounding off its comprehensive coverage of all Scandinavian markets.
ATS Denmark is thus officially established as of February 1, 2020, with Steven Kean as ATS Denmark General Manager.
-The basic strategy is to provide a full Nordic GSSA service for airlines once the Danish company is settled in the market, says Steven Kean.
-Copenhagen Airport is an important hub in the Nordic aviation market, and adding Denmark to the coverage of ATS will provide an extra boon in our joint efforts to serve existing customers as well as attracting new airlines to the portfolio of ATS.
-One key driver is also the significant volume of charter operations in Norway that may be supported by sales and marketing efforts in the Danish market.
-We are now in the initial phase of establishing ATS Denmark as a new provider, so we'll wait a few months before announcing any major news. Efforts are now focussed primarily on setting up all pertinent systems and analyzing the market to firm up the business plan.
-Also, the current turbulence in the market due to the effects of the Coronavirus will force us to thread cautiously for a start, says Mr Kean, who brings in rich experience and a network after serving in various executive positions with Aviation Plus, CargoCare, and North Air Logistics starting way back in 1991.
In Norway, ATS is headed by Gudmund Flaat who is also ATS Group CEO; in Sweden ATS is headed by Josef Cordoba as ATS Sweden Managing Director.
