Feb 21, 2020 (newstodate): Performing its first flight only on June 14, 2019, the Danish carrier Great Dane Airlines is growing its aircraft fleet again.
A decision has been made to source a fourth Embraer 195LR aircraft that will enter into production in time for the coming summer schedule.
The carrier launched business with one Embraer 195LR aircraft delivered on May 16, 2019, adding a second Embraer 195LR on June 24, 2019 - and a third aircraft was delivered on November 27, 2019.
The aircraft are acquired by the carrier's investor, Eigil B. Christensen, who transfers the aircraft to Great Dane Airlines on a leasing contract,
Based at Aalborg Airport and managed by Thomas Hugo Moller as CEO, Great Dane Airlines started out with scheduled flights on a network from Aalborg Airport to destinations including Dublin, Edinburgh and Nice alongside offering capacity for Danish tour operators, but the focus has since been turned to charter and ACMI services, leaving plans for the resumption of scheduled operations till a later date.
This month, Liebherr-Aerospace signed a landing gear overhaul agreement with Great Dane Airlines for the overhaul of the Danish airline's Embraer E195 fleet.
