Feb 19, 2020 (newstodate): Wizz Air was the first foreign low-cost carrier to operate flights to Russia's St Petersburg, and the carrier is now again expanding its offerings in the Russian market.
Wizz Air performed its first flight to St Petersburg from Budapest on August 27, 2017, and since then, the carrier has expanded its services with flights to London.
Starting from this summer, Wizz Air is adding flights on routes from St Petersburg to new destinations Vilnius from June 3, from Bucharest from July 1, to Sofia from July 2, and to Bratislava from June 1, 2020, with Airbus A321 aircraft, in all totalling 12 weekly rotations.
Wizz Air is also operating flights on routes from Moscow and Kazan, and in total the LCC will be serving 10 routes between Russia and six European countries.
