Feb 24, 2020 (newstodate): The sustained spread of coronavirus forces airlines to continuously adjust their traffic planning, with deep impact on the summer 2020 schedules.
As the latest move, Juneyao Airlines has now put extensions of its route between Shanghai and Helsinki to Keflavik, Dublin and Manchester on hold.
In its original plan, the start of the three extended flights to Keflavik, Dublin and Manchester were to start from March 31, March 29 and March 30, 2020, respectively, and later re-scheduled to start April 25, 26, and 27, respectively.
Now, Juneyao Airlines has stopped bookings for the planned route extensions, while it still plans to go up to daily flights between Shanghai and Helsinki from April 26, 2020, currently offering only one weekly and from March 29, 2020, three weekly rotations.
Tibet Airlines has suspended flights on its route between Jinan and Helsinki served once weekly, planning to start operating again from March 30, 2020, and Sichuan Airlines has also cancelled flights on its route served twice-weekly between Chengdu and Helsinki.
