Feb 04, 2020 (newstodate): The Danish charter and ACMI carrier Jet Time has now taken in its first Boeing 737-800 aircraft with new fuel- and emissions-saving Scimitar winglets.
The aircraft is already in operation, with the first commercial flight to the Canaries on January 24, 2020.
The carrier has also leased in a second Boeing 737-800 with Scimitar winglets. After being entered on Danish register, this aircraft will be delivered later in February and enter production by March 2020.
Jet Time will thus be operating 12 Boeing 737 NG aircraft during the coming summer 2020 season - one more than earlier planned - including six -700 and six -800 aircraft.
In summer 2018 Jet Time operated nine and in summer 2019 11 Boeing 737 NG aircraft.
Two Boeing 737-700 aircraft will be handed back to AerCap by the end of the summer schedule, leaving Jet Time with 10 aircraft in service in winter 2020/21.
The carrier's strategy core2explore 2025 aims at growing the split between charter and ACMI production to 2/3 and 1/3, respectively, up from roughly 80/20 in 2018, calling for adding more aircraft during the strategy period
