Feb 19, 2020 (newstodate): AirBridgeCargo back into Oslo Airport after a hiatus since October 2019?
The carrier's Boeing 747-8 freighter did indeed visit Oslo again on February 18, 2020 - but as a one-off operation.
According to the carrier's Norwegian GSSA, the operation was a charter flight, and there are no signs of a return of services from Oslo Airport.
-It all depends on the Russian government, and besides the current market situation and actual prospects hardly warrant a revival of the service at this stage, the source says.
From November 15, 2016, AirBridgeCargo offered a twice-weekly freighter service from Oslo to Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, even going up to three weekly flights from May 28, 2019, and continuing to Asian destinations.
The service at Oslo Airport was however suspended from Aug 02, 2019, when the Russian authorities implemented a ban on transfer of perishables at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport.
At first, a temporary solution was found in routing the ABC flights from Oslo to Seoul via Karaganda Airport in Kazakhstan for re-fuelling.
But this came to an end as well, leaving the service grounded.
