Dec 18, 2020 (newstodate): Heston Airlines, headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania, plans to launch operations by April 2021.
Heston Airlines will start recruiting flight crews by January or February 2021 with five crews per aircraft, planning to grow the fleet to seven aircraft by 2022, and up to 10 aircraft at a later stage.
The Lithuanian regulator is now handling the airline's application for an AOC after which the process to obtain a commercial license will follow shortly after.
Earlier this month, Heston Airlines took delivery of one Airbus A320 aircraft as the first of three that will form the initial core of capacity to be offered to the charter and ACMI markets.
In addition to serving customers in the passenger flights market, Heston Airlines will also seek a foothold in the cargo market, offering all-cargo flights will all passenger seats removed for full utilization of the capacity.
