Dec 11, 2020 (newstodate): Finnair has qualified for a credit guarantee to finance its latest Airbus A350-900 delivery in September 2020.
Behind the guarantee are the three main stakeholders in Airbus, Germany, France and the UK that underwrite the state credit subsidies to specific buyers of Airbus aircraft.
Receiving its first of 19 Airbus A350-900 aircraft ordered on October 7, 2015, the carrier how has 16 units in the fleet and has negotiated a revised delivery schedule with Airbus for the three remaining aircraft that will be pushed back by about two years.
Under the original contract, Finnair would have received its next two aircraft in Q2/2021 and the last aircraft in Q2/2022.
