Dec 08, 2020 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo transported a total of 7,760 tonnes of cargo in November 2020 - down 47.8 percent, y-o-y.
Totals include cargo on passenger flights, 2,631 tonnes, as well as cargo on all-cargo flights to the USA and Asia, totaling 5,129 tonnes.
Most of the cargo transported on passenger flights was carried on route between Helsinki and Asia, totaling 2,320 tonnes, which was still down 77.4 percent, y-o-y.
Compared to October 2020, cargo-only tonnes were however up by 124.1 percent and the total cargo tonnes by 54.0 percent due to a very strong demand for the cargo capacity especially in Asia.
And as before, shipments of Norwegian salmon and other seafood played a crucial role in November 2020 when the carrier lifted 2,700 tonnes of seafood to Japan, increasing volumes by over 50 percent compared to October.
In January-November 2020 Finnair Cargo has transported a total of 64,923 tonnes of cargo, down 59.3 percent, y-o-y, of which 21,596 tonnes were carried on all-cargo flights.
