Dec 02, 2020 (newstodate): Billund Airport saw its total cargo volumes dipping further in November 2020.
Down 19.9 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 5,604 tonnes, exports dropped 23.8 percent to 3,869 tonnes, while import volumes were also down by 9.8 percent to 1,735 tonnes.
During the first 11 months of this year, the airport's cargo volumes are thus down 10.6 percent, y-o-y, to 61,082 tonnes, with exports down 11.7 percent to 41,684 tonnes, and imports also down by 8.2 percent to 19,397 tonnes.
In normal days, most of the cargo handled at Billund Airport is shipments trucked between the airport and the major European airports where air traffic still remains at low levels since March 2020.
Still, integrators TNT/FedEx, DHL, UPS, and time:matters, as well as Turkish Airlines Cargo with two weekly freighter rotations and ad-hoc freighter operations still keep wheels turning at Billund Airport.
