Nov 04, 2020 (newstodate): Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is now readying for launch of services with a network comprising destinations in GCC Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Northern Africa and Europe.
The carrier obtained its AOC on October 5, 2020, and is now in place with all pertinent documents, staff and aircraft - while still hampered by the 14-days quarantine requirement in the Gulf state.
For a start, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi managed by Kees van Schaick as CEO has two Airbus A321neo aircraft in the fleet and expects to grow to six aircraft within the first six months of operations - increasing to 50 over the coming 10 years.
To maintain its aircraft fleet, the carrier has contracted the Lithuanian MRO provider FL Technics, member of the Avia Solutions Group, to support with complete Continuing Airworthiness Management, CAM, services.
FL Technics will perform continuous airworthiness management for Airbus A320 NEO and CEO family aircraft, and provide full CAM services.
