Nov 20, 2020 (newstodate): Wizz Air seems to be intent of chasing its competitor in the Norwegian domestic market, Norwegian, at all costs.
Wizz Air has thus now announced the opening of flights on a further three domestic routes from Oslo to Haugesund, Alta and Kirkenes.
This brings the carrier's route network to 10, so far leaving only two Norwegian-served routes untouched.
First to come is the route to Haugesund from December 4, 2020, with five weekly rotations, followed by flights to Kirkenes with three weekly rotations from December 15, and finally flights to Alta with four weekly rotations from December 18, 2020.
On November 7, 2020, the carrier announced the opening of two more routes from December 15, 2020: between Oslo and Stavanger served twice daily, and between Oslo and Evenes served with a daily rotation.
And starting from November 5, Wizz Air is offering services on three new domestic routes in Norway with flights from Oslo to three destinations: Bergen and Tromso, served with four daily rotations, and Trondheim served two times daily, respectively, with Airbus A320/A321 aircraft.
A second phase of Wizz Air's plan for Norwegian domestic flights will lift off from December 17, 2020, as the carrier will open Trondheim as a new base with two Airbus A321neo aircraft to successively offer flights to Stavanger, Bodo and Tromso, from Oslo to Alesund and Bodo, and between Tromso, Bodo and Stavanger.
