Nov 30, 2020 (newstodate): Cargo is a growing and important business for Turkish Airlines that is now to take a new step in the segment.
On November 27, 2020, the carrier informed the Public Disclosure Platform, KAP, of its intention to set up a new cargo subsidiary, fully owned by Turkish Cargo.
Setting up the new cargo subsidiary will allow Turkish Cargo to further enhance and optimize its competitive advantage and bolster the company’s position among the players of the sector while creating a separate platform for possible strategic partnerships abroad in the future, the company says in the message.
Today, Turkish Cargo provides air cargo services to more than 320 destinations worldwide, of which 95 are dedicated cargo destinations served by a freighter fleet comprising 10 Airbus A330-200F and eight Boeing 777F in addition to seven wet-leased freighters, and cargo capacity on the airline's fleet of 339 passenger aircraft, many of which are also operated on all-cargo services.
