Nov 25, 2020 (newstodate): 2020 will certainly not go down in history as a year of jubilation for Wallenborn Scandinavia. But - it's not that bleak after all..
-With some 98 percent of our tonnage in the road feeder business, we are utterly dependent on developments in air cargo - and with many airlines retreating from routes or downsizing schedules we are immediately affected, says Peter Nygaard, Wallenborn Scandinavia Branch Manager.
-Having said that, the over-all picture is more complex. Some routes are thinning, while other are performing rather well. European hubs where airlines are still operating generate road feeder traffic, while airports where a majority of airlines are absent, like Copenhagen Airport, are struggling.
-Weighing all things together, we are basically satisfied given the conditions, by neither having to rely on state support packages, nor being forced to lay off staff in these challenging times.
-As everyone else in the business, we pin our hopes on a coming effective Covid-19 vaccine freeing the demands accumulated in the markets for flow of goods and services, says Mr Nygaard.
