Nov 24, 2020 (newstodate): SAS Cargo is now selling and marketing a new priority product: Urgent Priority.
Two characteristics distinguish SAS Cargo Urgent Priority from the normal Priority Cargo product: highest priority in access to capacity, and a money back-guarantee.
Initially, SAS Cargo's P-Cargo entailed a money back-guarantee, but this was abolished from February 1, 2010, as SAS Cargo adjusted its priority cargo concept replacing the money back-guarantee with a "must fly" guarantee, entailing that if the promised freight and documents are delivered by the latest acceptance time at a SAS Cargo export station, the shipment "must fly" as booked.
-The new Urgent Priority product may be especially attractive to the pharma and perishables segments, but can of course be relevant to many other industries, including transportation of spare parts and other time-critical shipments. And these shipments will take priority over all other cargo bookings, says Alexandra Lindgren Kaoukji, SAS Cargo Head of Communications.
-The premium rates for Urgent Priority reflect the scarcity of cargo space in the market, but in a competitive environment rates are eventually determined by the market.
-Today, SAS Cargo offers belly capacity on all routes in the schedule, with options for all-cargo ad-hoc and charter operations, albeit on a more limited scale than during the early phase of the Covid-19 pandemic when we operated scheduled all-cargo flights on contracts with forwarders and other customers.
-Should demand for scheduled all-cargo flights return with the needs for Covid-19 vaccine air logistics, SAS Cargo will of course respond to requests at short notice, says Ms Kaoukji.
During the period November 1, 2020-January 10, 2021, SAS Cargo offers belly cargo capacity on daily flights from Copenhagen to New York Newark, up to daily flights to Washington, two to three weekly rotations to San Francisco, 5-6 rotations to Chicago, as well as one weekly rotation on the route between Copenhagen and Shanghai.
