Nov 18, 2020 (newstodate): An art performance stunt - or will Iceland really see the launch of a new low-cost carrier, MOM Air?
Maybe facts will be presented today at a press conference called by MOM Air this afternoon, to be streamed live on facebook.
The project conceived by an Icelandic artist, Oddur Eysteinn Fridriksson, is yet to apply for an AOC, but plans are to perform the first flight on March 1, 2021, opening up a coming new network of destinations in the USA and Europe, and backed by domestic and foreign investors.
MOM Air purports to become a MEGA-low-cost airline with all services onboard to be optional and paid on the spot, including expected options like luggage space and seat selection
But reportedly, MOM will even stretch the low-cost concept to charge for toilet paper, hand soap and powering up electronic devices.
