Nov 18, 2020 (newstodate): The era of four-engine long haul aircraft is soon ending for SAS.
Currently parked at Copenhagen Airport, the last remaining Airbus A340-300 is expected to lift-off from the airport by December 1, 2020, heading for scrap and part-out at Pinal Airpark in the USA.
SAS took delivery in 2001 of its first of a fleet growing to seven Airbus A340-300 aircraft at its peak.
This leaves SAS with only twin-engine aircraft including Airbus A330-300 and Airbus A350.
